Building Community Advocacy for People with Disabilities Just Got Better
For Person Centered Care Services (PCCS), 2016 was a milestone in community advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary as an active nonprofit organization creating education, employment and housing opportunities for the people we serve. We partnered with various influential organizations such as the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, Staten Island Performing Provider System, Staten Island Economic Development Corporation; rolled out one of our very first campaign initiatives known as the Disability Ally Initiative; took part in an invigorating out-of-state conference on assuring quality lives for the people receiving a wide range of services; crowdfunded in order to provide Christmas gifts for over two-hundred children at a local middle school; and began to share our experiences with you all through our collective social media channels (please follow us on Instagram and Twitter and like us on Facebook: @pccsny).
As you can already imagine, we had quite a busy year, and that’s not even the bulk of it. Person Centered Care Services continues to grow, and this year we are doing even more outreach than we ever have to make sure we are supporting parents, families, and people who are in need of the services we have to provide.
Your access and convenience means a lot to us and that is why we have decided to launch a fully redesigned website so that all the information and resources you may need are all within your reach.
To continue community advocacy for people with disabilities and provide on-demand and relevant information to our entire community, we encourage you to become a disability ally and donate to our efforts toward social change.
